At our clinic in Bishop’s Stortford, we provide expert physiotherapy for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in both men, women and adolescents. Whether your symptoms are recent or long-standing, our aim is to get to the root of the issue and guide you through a structured, evidence-based recovery.
We regularly treat:
Our approach is proactive and focused on long-term results — not just short-term symptom relief. We don’t rely on passive treatments alone. Instead, we combine hands-on therapy with targeted rehabilitation, movement retraining and clear, practical education.
You’ll leave each session not only feeling better, but with a clear understanding of your condition, your treatment plan and how to manage it independently for the future.
The initial consultation focuses heavily on understanding your symptoms, medical history and goals — this “subjective” part often provides around 80% of the information needed for a diagnosis. We take this time seriously, as it helps us fully grasp what’s going on and how best to treat you.
For insurance-funded appointments (usually 30 minutes), we may only complete the subjective assessment and discussion during the first visit, with treatment starting in follow-ups. Self-pay sessions (typically 45 minutes to 1 hour) allow time for both assessment and some hands-on treatment in your first appointment.
We tailor each session to your needs and ensure you have a clear plan for your recovery.
Follow-up sessions vary depending on your injury and the treatment plan we agreed on. Typically, we start with a brief discussion about your progress and any new issues since your last visit. Treatment then continues, with a focus on hands-on therapy and exercise.
But follow-ups are about more than just treatment — they involve ongoing education, reassurance, and two-way communication to make sure your recovery is on track. We regularly review and adjust your home exercise programme, retest as needed, and change our approach if necessary to keep your progress moving forward and avoid stagnation.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow you to move freely and make it easy for the physiotherapist to assess and treat the affected area. For example, shorts or leggings and a t-shirt work well. If you have a specific injury or area of concern, bring clothing that allows easy access to that part of your body.
We accept Bupa, AXA, WPA, Cigna and Helix. However, insurance policies vary, so it’s important you check your coverage with your provider before booking. If authorisation is not in place, you’ll be responsible for the private fee, which cannot be backdated.
Before your first appointment, we’ll need your membership details, authorisation codes, the number of sessions approved, and any excess payment due. Please note, all insurance sessions are limited to 30 minutes, and we cannot book two sessions back-to-back as insurers do not permit this.
Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice. Missed appointments without adequate notice must be paid for privately, as insurance companies do not cover these fees
